VR: Who is Fallon
Scott and what is she all about?
FS: Fallon
Scott was created due to my losing a bet in 1989 to a friend that
did drag. Rather than paying the $5 or $10 for the bet they demanded
that I do a drag show!
My love for pageants spilled over into my budding drag career
and really I made that the basis for Fallon. Shows are great,
but for me pageants was where it was at.
Im not an overly 'trend guided' performer, I would rather give
good paint, something beaded, and as much womped hair as I can!
:) Now, 16 years later, I am a much more seasoned entertainer,
and with that comes the interest and dedication to helping other
queens achieve their dreams, especially consulting them with their
pageant endeavors.
VR: Where are
you living these days?
FS: I’m a 5th
generation San Franciscan on my mother's side, but left California
in 1989 to move to Oklahoma to be closer to my father in OKC and
my sister in Missouri. In 1995 I moved from Tulsa to Dallas and
was there for 9 years. I love Dallas, but growing up with a father
that worked for the U.S. Government (attending 11 schools in 12
years) Dallas was the one place that I lived the longest in, and
needed a change. So DeVon, my partner of 13 1/2 years, and I
moved back to Tulsa to be closer to his mother and closer to my
father. Sadly they both passed away this year, so we are glad
that we could be here for them both, respectively.
VR: I know this
is a hard question, but can you tell us what your life has been
about say the last 5-10 years?
FS: Ok, what
year is this....2005?!?!? LOL I'll take the easy route and
answer for the past 7 years....right in between 5 and 10! :)
Really my personal and drag life has changed immensly in the past
7 years! Professionally I have been the Regional Makeup Artist
for Lancôme, Regional Education Director for Sebastian Trucco
Cosmetics, Business Manager for Yves Saint Laurent, and I achieved
my ultimate goal of becoming the National Makeup Artist for Christian
Dior.
Achieving your goals is both a FABULOUS and depressing thing.
I am fortunate to be able to say that I have achieved ALL of
my goals both professional and drag, but making new goals is the
hard part!
2000 was the year that I made several changes.....I 'retired'
from competing in pageants, and left the cosmetics world to regroup
and make new goals. Since then I have also had to regroup with
the death of my father. It puts things in a new perspective,
i.e. ...get off my rear and MAKE GOALS AGAIN, don’t wait for tomorrow,
just do it!
VR: When you
were growing up and each morning you would look in the mirror
did you feel that was the wrong person looking back at you or
were you happy being you?
FS: You're asking this question to a LEO so
I looked in the mirror A LOT! LOL I have always been happy being
male, in that regards, but I have always had a MAJOR self doubt
about my looks......both drag and as a man. I am my worst critic,
and always think that everything can look 3 times better than
what it does. That's where my 'sparkling personality' LOL came
in growing up!
Then and now, anytime someone compliments me on my looks, it is
very hard to just say 'Thank You!' without explaining how I could
have looked better, ya know?
VR: Who was
your inspiration growing up?
FS: The first
person that comes to mind is my High School honors English teacher,
Margaret (Peg) Garner. Not because of her being a woman, but
because of her experiences in life, her AMAZING style, and her
being so expressive!
Every day in class she had life stories that would put me in a
trance listening to them! Her fashion was a cross between 'hot
casino wear/Dolly Parton-esque fashions' (without the cleavage)
and anything with SHOULDER PADS! (remember, it was the 80's!
LOL) and her outlook on life was 'take it as it come' which I
have lived by.
She was my English teacher for 3 of my 4 high school years, and
after the 1st year I became 'teacher's pet' so I was able to spend
more time with her. I found out that she and I were a lot alike
with our both moving a lot as children, personality wise, and
self doubting wise and she inspired me to just be a better person
always.
VR: How long
have you been doing drag or female impersonation?
FS: December
1989 was when I lost that bet, and ya know, I can’t even remember
what the bet was about now! LOL So, this month was my 16 year
anniversary.
VR: Do you consider
yourself transgendered or a female impersonator?
FS: This is
a funny question to me. I am OBVIOUSLY a man, just ask DeVon!
(wink wink, nudge nudge) But, A LOT of my dearest friends are
transies! One of them has told me "Girl, you're just ITCHIN
to be a transie aren’t you!?!?" When I was a size 4 in drag
it would have been more of an option, but now being 34 years old
and add a big 1 in front of that 'size 4' it would NOT be a pretty
sight for me to change my gender appearance! LOL
VR: I know you
dabble in the art of makeup artistry and to look at you, your
very good at it, do you like most makeup artist I know, consider
yourself a perfectionist or are you easily satisfied with your
look?
FS: Thank you,
and Absolutely, Positively, 100,000% a perfectionist! I am NEVER
satisfied with how I paint! In fact, one year when returning
back as a former Miss Oklahoma USofA, my number wasn’t until just
before crowning, and I sat in the dressing room during the WHOLE
PAGEANT and painted and re-painted, and painted and re-painted
etc. over and over because I didnt think I looked good enough.
Im trying to get myself out of that mode, but I think self doubt
is equal to a lot of addictions in the way that it can sometimes
rule your life if you let it!
VR: How did
you get started in the art of female impersonation?
FS: The famous
bet was lost, so I did a newcomer talent show. I didn’t win the
first time, but my being a makeup artist I thought "Ok, I
can do this" so I did another show 2 or 3 weeks later......I
WAS WRETCHED! LOL
But two queens, Kesslin Foster and Nikki Rich took me aside and
said
"You have potential, we
want to help you!" So they gave me a list of what to buy.......the
shade of Pan-Stick, powder, hair, shoe heel height, etc.
They are also where I got my name from. They had a list of like
20 names something like: Lauren Fairchild, Fallon Versace, Monica
Scott, etc. and I asked if I could take Fallon from one name and
Scott from the other and put them together, thinking in my mind
that that would be a 'no-no' LOL, but I did and hence "Fallon
Scott"
Well, they painted me for my 3rd show and I WON! My original
'drag mother' didn’t even recognize me! So, I thought I was done,
but as the show winner I had to go back the next week and 'defend
my winning'.......I WON AGAIN, and again, and again, and again,
etc. Then the night I didn’t win, Kesslin and Nikki said YOU HAVE
TO DO A PAGEANT!............
VR: There is
a rumor going around, that you are kind of hooked on the pageant
system, how many pageants have you won?
FS: Yes Miss
Vicki, I can confirm that rumor! LOL Officially I have won
12 pageants, but there are a few more that were 'just for fun'
pageants that I won that I don’t include in the 12 because they
werent affiliated with a system.
SIDEBAR: I think it is hilarious when I hear queens say 'I have
won 287 pageants......' how many of those were in someone's backyard
at the drop of a hat with no promotion or knowledge that it was
even happening until right then and there! LOL
Although I have only won 12, I have entered MANY! I would say
at least 40+ pageants, and have won interview in almost every
one of them!
The second year I entered Miss Texas America I was "Best
Non Finalist". (my first year I made Top 10 and was 6th overall)
Some people thought that I was bitter, but actually with that
achievement I have won EVERYTHING in pageantry possible except
for a National Title! LITERALLY! All catagories, all placings
(I've never placed LAST, thank God!) each level of contest (Bar,
City, State and Regional, twice over) and I have placed in the
Top 5 at a National Pageant.
VR:
Do you have one that stands out, above the others, one that your
are really proud of the most?
FS: I loved
being Miss South USofA 1996, and traveled to about 10 states performing
with that title, but I am most proud of being Miss Oklahoma USofA
1994. I won my first time entering, I believe that I hold the
distinction as being the youngest Miss Oklahoma USofA. I won it
in late 1993 and gave it up in early 1995, so I had a long reign
as well.
It was always my dream to: enter, win, give it up, and judge it
the next year, and I did exactly that with my first state title,
Miss Oklahoma USofA! I have been involved with the pageant for
the past 9 of 13 titleholders since I won, and will continue to
be involved until either Im not here, or the pageant isn’t here!
:)
VR: Can you
share with our readers what the costs are to enter and compete
in a major pageant and what is involved in competing in one?
FS: Great question!
The costs are many! One of the most major costs is your self
being. A pageant contestant has to know that no matter if they
are good or 'not so good' there are ALWAYS going to be people
out there that either LOVE you or HATE you! That cost is something
that never is 'totally paid up'!
We all know gowns/paint/shoes/etc. aren’t cheap, and I have been
one of those queens that bought a fab pair of Frederico Leone
shoes for Miss USofA rather than paying my phone bill.....trust,
a lot of us have done that! LOL......but rather than focus on
that well known part of it, I would like to stress to all budding
'pageant queens' out there to try their best to be humble, personable,
and dedicated, because without your integrity you'll never wear
a crown that means something to you or the public in general!
VR: I know you
are very much involved in a couple of pageants there in Oklahoma,
would you care to tell us what they are, where they are held and
when they are held?
FS: Miss Oklahoma
USofA will always be the premier pageant for me to be involved
in.
I have been a pageant promoter before, and DeVon and I are going
to get back into it this year with 2 local pageants (a double
crowning) to go on to Miss Oklahoma USofA. The pageant that I
promoted before was a Regional prelim. to Miss USofA, it wasnt
stressful as it was the relationship with 'my girls' was temporary......i.e.
only really being involved with them until they competed at Miss
USofA. Whereas, with our 2 local titles, we will hold the pageant
early in the pageant year, I want to have the first prelim. of
the system year, we will be able to form a bond with our girls,
and REALLY help and inspire them to be winners the whole year,
regardless if any of them take home the crown at Miss Oklahoma
USofA!
VR: What has
been your biggest accomplishment to date, not just in the world
of impersonation but in life?
FS: It's a
tie between: My relationship with DeVon; we've had our up's and
down's but we both know that we are stuck with each other! LOL
The other would be becoming the National Makeup Artist for Christian
Dior, and breaking sales records that were around for years.
I, and my Regional V.P., were instrumental on the sales force
side of getting the Christian Dior name out there in our 8 state
region. OF COURSE the Dior product speaks for itself, but you
gotta have the grunt work done by somebody, and we did it! :)
VR: Do you have
any pet peeves?
FS: OH BOY
HOWDY do I! ;) Ok, here are the ones that come to mind:
**Closet or cabinet doors left open!
**Using the same spoon for dry and wet foods....that's a strange
one, but true!
**Poor grammar usage! (Thanks to Mrs. Garner on that one! LOL)
**Zealots!
DRAG WISE:
**Queens that lipsync the chorus of a song.
**The over usage of WHITE liquid eyeliner!
**People that think that the clear/rhinestone accented 'Cinderella'
shoes cant be worn with a gown.....HELLO THAT'S WHAT THEY DESIGNED
THE SHOE FOR! LOL
**Queens that dont use COLOR when they paint/and dont have expression
in their eyes when they perform a song.
and finally
**People that dont know me, and that I am really a quiet homebody
that automatically think Im a bitch........get to know me and
Ill give ya the shirt off my back.....unless it's my fav. lime
green Michael Kors shirt, then I'll give ya DeVon's shirt! :)
VR: Do you think
you are a nice person or do you think you can be a bitch at times?
FS: Generally
I am a nice person in that I am genuine and loyal to whatever
I or my friends do.
I do have to admit that for what ever endeavor that I am passionate
about I tend to be a RAVING perfectionist bitch! LOL I am a
firm believer in the saying "If something is worth doing,
it's worth doing well!" so I easily go overboard with that
in mind.
BUT, I always make sure to say THANK YOU to people around me,
and to apologize to them BEFORE I have a 'LET'S DO THIS RIGHT'
episode! LOL
VR: What do
you think makes you stand out above others?
FS: Another
good question....this makes a gal think!
I think that what makes me stand out above others is my ownership
of my actions. If you do it, or say it, you better OWN IT! I
know that I have done some fierce stuff in my day, and I am well
aware of my haneous stuff too! LOL (And arent those always the
performances that SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE has a video camera on for?!?!?!
LOL) But I have always owned what I do, say and think, and that
power has made me a better person both on and off stage.
VR: Do you get
nervous when you are asked to speak to a group or perform on stage?
FS: For basic
performances, drag or otherwise, no. But there have been a few
times that the butterflies did NOT want to calm down. Cotton
mouth is a horrible thing! LOL As the National M/U Artist for
Dior I had many appearances on television and at trade shows in
front of thousands of people, and I had to paint/teach/talk/finesse/and
work the crowd more than any drag performance EVER! It was a
blast though!
VR: Who do you
admire these days?
FS: Monica
Munro, Maya Douglas, Michelle Dupree, Tamisha Iman, Jennifer Warner,
and DeVon.
VR: Are you
in love now?
FS: Having
been in a long term relationship, being "in love" and
loving get mixed into one. The desire to have 'adult relations'
isnt like what newlyweds have, but there is that great feeling
of knowing each other so well both everyday wise, and passionately/sexually
wise that makes the 'in love' part of it really stand out. So
I would have to answer yes to the question.
VR: Where do you see yourself
in the future?
FS: Hardest
question of all! Right now, I have irons on the fire in all aspects
that seem to be unpassable, and it's hard to visualize what life
will be after completing them. Drag wise: I think I will have
a pageant competing resurrection one day....God knows I love the
sight of a crown in morning daylight! LOL Professionally: I
need to bring to fruition my ideas/dreams of a couple of entrepreneureal
concepts that would really be profitable!
VR: What do
you think you have to offer the transgender or gay community,
anything at all?
FS: My support,
love, encouragement, and assistance at all times!
VR: Do you have
a favorite movie and why?
FS: I have
a few of them, some for their obvious 'gay factor' some for their
cinematic qualities, and some just because:
MOMMIE DEAREST (gay factor)
TERMS OF ENDEARMENT (cinematic factor)
THE GRIFTERS (gay and cinematic)
TROOP BEVERLY HILLS (TOTAL gay factor!)
REQUIEM FOR A DREAM (cinematic factor)
DEATH BECOMES HER (GAY GAY GAY! LOL)
and
THE COOLER (just because and cinematic)
VR: Who is your
favorite fiction character(s), in literature or in the movies,
and why?
FS: Mrs. Garner
in high school introduced me to "The Great Gatsby".
She verbally illustrated the book and characters in such a way
that I remember it vividly still to this day! The opulence and
grandeur of the story, and the era in which it was portrayed are
all fascinating to me. Also, this shows my 'brainiac' side;
the book "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka is something
that I will NEVER forget reading! It isn’t a 'page turner' but
it sure does make for good dinner party conversation with those
that have read it! :) I also LOVE biographies and auto-biographies.
Two favs. are: Nancy Reagan's auto-biography that I read years
ago.......I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN! and "American Evita"
about Hillary Clinton.....finished it in one night before bed!
Both MAJOR 'page turners'!
VR: What words
of wisdom would you give to someone who is reaching out for help?
FS: DONT SWEAT
THE SMALL STUFF! A DOUBT MEANS NO! (Thanks to Oprah for that
one!) IT IS NEVER AS BAD AS IT SEEMS, as long as you aren’t looking
through bars when you're thinking it's bad! LOL and ALWAYS BE
PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO.
VR: Do you have
a final statement, for our readers?
FS: First,
THANK YOU VICKI for this opportunity! You're a DOLL! Lastly,
I want to let everyone know that if I can be of any help.....not
just for a drag pageant, but for an ear to open up to, or whatever
it is please don’t hesitate to email me: dfwbill71@yahoo.com just
put something in the subject like VICKI INTERIVEW or that
so I know.

You can also find more information about Fallon by writing her at her EMAIL
Note from Vicki Rene I have only known this person for a short time now, we like many on my site have exchanged emails and chatted and chatted about this and that.
I don’t say this too often about girls I have met here and there but I can truly say, I wish she was my next door neighbor. What a really nice and down to earth person.
As you can see in her pictures, she is an except to the rule, “The best looking queens are not the best looking of men”. She is a beautiful woman and an exceptionally handsome man.
