VR: Who is Misty Eyez?
ME: Hmmmm... WHO IS MISTY EYEZ.... Lets see.... She is an incredibly Loveable, Playful, Passionate, Loyal, Dedicated, Honest, Compassionate, Considerate, Moral Person. She is an Artist, a Model, a Performer, an Emcee, a Friend, a promoter, and a mentor. She is also a Capricorn

VR: Where are you living these days?
ME: I moved to Fort Lauderdale in October 2001.. and have made a home for myself here... I love Florida and I love Fort Lauderdale... I don't see myself moving for several years... I really love it!!!

VR: I know this is a hard question, but can you tell us what your life has been about, say the last 5-10 years or so?
ME: GOSH this is hard.. and I don't really have a short answer...... MY LIFE has a high speed, Death Defying, Roller Coaster with EXTREME HIGHS and LOWS, and Severe DROP OFFS :) Ten years ago I was a Sophomore at ORAL ROBERTS UNIVERSITY in TULSA, Oklahoma (the Largest Charismatic Christian College in the United states.) I was a televangelist, gospel singer, and student youth minister, all the while struggling with my sexuality and my love for the lord, and worried about what people would do or think if they ever found out I was gay. I got engaged twice HOPING to force myself straight and that failed.... Finally my senior year.. after being SUICIDAL, I came to terms with my sexuality and realized that GOD made me this way and I came to love myself.... SINCE then I have lived my life as an ambassador for self LOVE, and acceptance and started my own little ministry to help those who have also suffered from religious abuse and to help them realize that they are NOT alone and indeed that they are LOVED... I started the art of Female impersonation on HOLLOWEEN, it was a joke or a DARE at first.... but it came very natural for me (theatre, music, stage background) and once I realized how beautiful I thought I was I started doing it at benefits and fundraiser's and then somehow between now and then I am doing it FULL TIME :) 5-7 nights a week. I guess now I would say that I try to live my life as an example of a GAY MAN, and how I feel that he should be... YOU DONT have to be an alcoholic, or a Drug addict... and you can BE a nice fun person who cares for others.... and just because you are FIERCE you don't have to be mean to others... I just lead by example, others pay attention :)

VR: When you were growing up and each morning you would look in the mirror did you feel that was the wrong person looking back at you?
ME: ACTUALLY NO..... I LOVE VERY MUCH BEING A MAN.... IM attracted to men, I love men, and I love myself. I love being able to have a sort of CLARK KENT / Misty Eyez persona... especially living in WILTON MANORS the LARGEST gay section of Fort Lauderdale ITS NICE to go unrecognized as the man behind the Eyez especially in the gay publix or out at dinner with friends etc... HOWEVER I WILL CONFESS that as a YOUNG CHILD I was VERY jealous of girls in my class who would SWING on the swing set and their HAIR would DRAG on the ground as they kick their legs up to go higher... and I used to take a TOWEL put it on my head and dress up as if I TOO had LONG SEXY HAIR... other than that I never wanted to be a girl.... (not full time anyway)

VR: Who was your inspiration when you were young?
ME: LOL VERY YOUNG (13)... Madonna... I used to dress up with the towel on my head and my mothers bra and sing at the TOP of my lungs "I am a Material girl... you know that we are Living in a Material world..... and a I am a Material world" however in my older life college etc... I REALLY looked up to / Idolized Catia Lee Love..... she was defiantly My ROLE MODEL and my INSPIRATION. I was amazed at not only her Talent but the fact that she could live as a man... be a man and a woman by night... I wanted to be just like her.

VR: When did you start doing drag?
ME: IT was a Dare for Halloween, and I did it and LOVED IT... I was stuck in the mirror all night... I could not BELEIVER how beautiful I was.... LOL and I look back at those pics and I AM GAGGED ... what was I thinking... I looked HORRID LOL I though I was so pretty I should do drag professionally...and yet NOW I look back and THINK I should have NEVER been allowed to leave the house LOL (I sympathize with these new girls that come out acting all fierce in a wig and lipstick talking a big talk... I was also there once... I thought I should have won the Halloween costume contest)

VR: Do you have any place in particular that you work now, some place my readers can come see the beautiful Misty Eyez perform?
ME: ABSOLUTLY :) Sunday Nights Im at TBL: The Bottom Line, in Fort Myers, FL Show time at Midnight www.clubtbl.com, Monday Nights (Starting in December) I will be hosting WILTON MANORS only DRAG QUEEN CABERET and Dinner theatre at CHARDEES in wilton Manors, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday Im at Elements www.elementsbar.com Tuesday nights Come get Trashed with Misty Eyez at TRAILOR TRASH BINGO Gay Bingo from 9pm -1am www.elementsbar.com Thursday nights Is PORNOCOPIA 9pm -1am, kinda like a mystery science 2000 whhere we Critique a new PORNO, we give away porn all night and once a month the actual porn stars come to VISIT and play, Fridays is NOCHE LATINA (Latin Night) I am the Cocktail, shot girl from 11pm - 1:30 am show is at 1:30 and Saturday Nights the Hostess Party girl at Circuit from 10pm -1am with the show at 12 www.circuitbar.com

VR: You are a very beautiful lady, you must have won a lot of titles, can you share a few of them with us?
ME: THANK YOU VICKI... Actually I do not as of yet have many titles Only Miss Stonewall Wilton Manors 2004 (miss Fort Lauderdale Gay Pride) As of yet I have not FOCUSED on pageantry. I have been more working on my public IMAGE so that when I do run for major systems I can go to Local Gay Business and ask for sponsorship and they will actually know who I am and want to help. I believe Im either going to FOCUS on either the MISS FL at Large system, the Miss Continental At Large or Miss USofA at large ... all three appeal to me and I have not yet decided which one I will start to per sue as I chase my dreams of being a National Title Holder

VR: What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
ME: WELL AS of the moment I am MOST proud that I was asked to MODEL for a GREETING Card Line called CAMP 101. A photographer (Michael Fazakerly) moved here from NY and created his OWN card line www.camp101cards.com and asked me to MODEL for him and I did 30 cards for him. Get well soon, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday etc... and you can FIND them in gay gift shops all over the US. and or you can order them from the Website. My two favorite cards are "Made in America" and "OUCH"

VR: Who do you admire these days?
ME: I still Look up to Catia Lee Love even though I have not seen her perform in the past few years, but she lives on in my memory, and LIVING in South Florida I LOOK UP TO, ERIKA NORELL and ELECTRA. Erika has been able to gain the respect of fans all over the US as she has captured several National titles, and ELECTRA for she is the MOST TALLENTED ILLUSIONIST I have EVER SEEN... she is TRULY a CAMELION and can LOOK like anything WOW.... one day I hope to learn some of her secrets :)

VR: Do you have any pet peeves?
ME: BAD BREATH..... NOT ONLY a PET PEEVE but my BIGGEST TURN OFF! OK DRAG RELATED... and this GOES for all GAYS, BAD MOUTHING! GOSSIPING! or Talking Trash! In no way does Putting others down make you a better entertainer, or more popular person.

VR: Do you think you are a nice person or do you think you can be a bitch at times?
ME: LOL I think Im a nice person.... in fact many of my friends call me SUZY ray of SUNSHINE... for I am probably the only person that will humor a DRUNKEN mess who approaches me :) I guess its all part of my southern charm... or it comes with being the son of a preacher man who knows... but secretly... I TRY TO BE BITCHY :) I would LOVE to be KAREN WALKER :)

VR: What do you think makes you stand out above others?
ME: UNLIKE OTHER GIRLS... I love helping the new girls.... Giving Makeup lessons or sharing hair secrets with others... I look at the Drag Community as a FAMILY not as COMPETITORS... I know most girls would NEVER tell their EYELINER SECRET for fear that SOMEONE would look as good or better than them... HOWEVER I feel quite the OPPOSITE... I also believe in KARMA and helping others will eventually help me ;) and I never really had a DRAG MOTHER or sister to teach me secrets that took me YEARS to learn so I love being that person to reach out and HELP a new girl make her task a bit easier :)

VR: Do you get nervous when you are asked to speak to a group or perform on stage?
ME: NOT AT ALL... I LOVE THE MIC.... maybe its my theatre or singing background... but I think that is also one of my strengths... I LOVE TO EMCEE.... I FEED off interaction with the audience and LOVE to talk / share with them I feel VERY comfortable on the MIC :)

VR: Are you a full time lady or if not have you ever considered living full time as a lady?
ME: NO I am a FULL TIME man and Part time Lady :) HOWEVER I have considered some body modifications like hip, and ass work for future work in SWIMSUIT COMPITION, but as of RIGHT NOW I have no desire to be a TRANNIE I do not feel that I am a woman trapped in a mans body, IM just an entertainer... I considered a breast augmentation once for a Straight boyfriend but then I realized I would be changing for him NOT FOR ME... and KNOWING that I only wanted to date someone that LOVED ME and was not TRYING to change me... we ended it

VR: Are you in love now?
ME: NO, IM very VERY SINGLE. However, I am looking for my soul mate. SOMEONE that can LOVE me and accept me both as a boy and as a girl. A gay man that accepts a FEMININE career for his MATE. I would love to have someone to share the good the bad and the ugly... THE exciting things are so much more exciting when you have someone to share your excitement... AND WHO wants to travel alone :( go to the movies alone etc... LIFE would be better with a partner to grow old with :)

VR: Where do you see yourself in the future?
ME: WELL like I said previously I see myself working the Pageant circuit (USofA or Continental systems), I have also tossed around and played with the Idea and actually have in the works possibly recording a DEMO CD. I would love my Modeling for www.camp101cards.com to lead to more modeling gigs, and MY DREAM JOB would be to star in a Movie like FLAWLESS, or RENT, or to be a HOSTESS on a television show, like WILD ON E!, or a game show hostess like DOG EAT DOG or talk show like OPRAH. I would even enjoy something on BROADWAY like HAIRSPRAY, That would be fun... VR: What do you think you have to offer the transgender or gay community, anything at all?
ME: As the ELDEST SON of a PASTOR, I have Lead my life in front of the MICROSCOPE, and as a performer I continue to do so. FOR THE GAY Community I can only Lead by example working for all the Benefits and charities that I can, giving and organizing here and there when I can and GIVING of myself. As far as the TRANSGENDERED community, even though I am not a MEMBER of this community, it is NEAR and VERY DEAR to my heart and I have given MANY MANY MAKEUP Lessons and done PHOTOSHOOTS for girls to help them see how to TRANSFORM their face from looking like the shape of a man into that of a woman. I have also counseled many girls on their desires and helped them understand that this is INDEED the right step for them and encouraged them and or help hold their hand in the process.

VR: What words of wisdom would you give to someone who is reaching out for help?
ME: BE A SPONGE!!!!!!!!!! Always absorb everything around you, and volunteer. BEFORE I started performing, I would go back stage and Volunteer and help... and watch and learn... I would Watch Catia Lee Love and then go home and TRY TO do what I saw her doing. YOU WILL BE AMAZED what you can pick up just by watching, and then when you don't understand ASK.... "WHY DID YOU USE OIL SHEEN? OR why did you do that first? what makes Pan stick foundation better than Liquid foundation?" and once you understand why it works for someone else you can decide to apply it to your life and adapt it as your own or not.....

VR: Do you have a final statement, for our readers?
ME: TWO THINGS: DO THE RIGHT THING, Even though its not the easiest! and Create your own path, don't just go with the FLOW, for the FLOW may be going DOWNSTREAM! What you have to realize is as Entertainers we are ROLEMODELS and people LOOK UP TO US, and PEOPLE are ALWAYS WATCHING, even if you don't realize it, and If you SLIP UP, you may NEVER live it down at least in the eyez of a fan and or all of their friends... "OMG I SAW MISTY EYEZ at the GAS STATION.. and she was SOOO RUDE to the Guy behind the counter..." ....ETC.....
