I personally consider myself a "Female Illusionist". I do my best to look like and act like a female. I'm not sure what a female goes through, so I don't consider myself to be a female impersonator and a drag queen to me is someone who is very campy and doesn't always look like a woman. I'm not sure what to think of the term drag illusionist.... maybe a racecar driver in a dress? (thanks to Della Catessen and www.mygayweb.com)

"Whenever Drag is mentioned in the Twin Cities, the one name that immediately pops into the conversation is "DELLA CATESSEN! ". Definitely the Gal about "town" here, she's a singer, songwriter, pianist, performer, actor and an MC who's been delighting audiences for years! This self-professed "late bloomer" swears that she started doing drag professionally a few years ago, as the result of a friends dare. Now, beauty queen hopefuls tremble at the mention of her name." Poison Waters

Poison Waters, aka Kevin Cook, is one of Portland, Oregon's premier entertainers. At the age of 20, she won the title of Rosebud XIII, the oldest underage gay and lesbian title in the country. Since then, Poison has performed on every stage in town. The spotlight hungry Poison has participated in and hosted an endless docket of benefits, revues and shows for various local and regional charities. It has become obvious to her that networking and self-promotion are the key to a fun-filled and fully scheduled "drag career" (thanks to Della Catessen and www.mygayweb.com)

Eileen Dover

Eileen Dover

Jeff Guckeen, who is the extremely successful female impersonator, Eileen Dover, was involved in an SUV rollover accident while traveling back from an out state performance. Eileen has endured a few surgeries to date, including repair to tendons in her arm and a few skin grafts. With severe head injuries causing some bruising to her brain, Eileen remained in the Intensive Care Unit for some time until she was able to recover under her mother's care. "Known for a chameleon like ability in her performances, Eileen does a fierce Joan Crawford/Mommie Dearest number that has endeared her to fans. In her own tradition Eileen is expected to make a full recovery and will most likely will walk up to the remains of the truck and spout in her best Joan, "Don't F*CK with me!" Some of her thoughts: "A transvestite, or cross dresser, is someone who is typically heterosexual who enjoys wearing women's clothing and usually has a sexual disposition for doing so. A transsexual is someone who is undergoing sexual re-assignment or has gone through the process. Intersexed is an individual born with two sexes; as in hermaphrodites, and they will identify themselves. Drag queens are individuals who dress up as women either for entertainment or social purposes on an amateur basis. And lastly, I would identify myself as being a Female Impersonator; an individual who dresses for entertainment purposes on a professional level." (thanks to Della Catessen and www.mygayweb.com)

By definition, I suppose I can be termed a drag queen. However, I choose not to limit myself to the unfortunate stereotypes that sometimes accompany "drag queens" or "female impersonators." I use my creativity and artistic soul in a fresh, new way. I try to tackle music that some may deem too risqué or masculine to be performed by someone in my art form, but I do try to push that envelope just a bit. Drag queens I feel are boys in dresses - entertainers truly set out to make sure that every single person in that club or venue leave having had a good time because of what you did or said on stage - and that my friends is the difference! Apple Love

I have spent most of my adult life in Atlanta, but Tampa is where I was born. I love Atlanta! In 1996, I moved back to Tampa to be nearer to my family with whom I have become very close. My family and friends adore watching me perform (so they say!) and my mother and sister attend many of my performances. Friends and family are the most important aspect of my life and music is my religion. (thanks to Della Catessen and www.mygayweb.com)

Being a Celebrity Impersonator has been an incredible experience. I am constantly making new and interesting friends, working in trendy clubs and meeting celebrities such as Ru Paul, Patti La Belle, Matthew Modine and Sara Jessica Parker. I refer to myself as a Celebrity Impersonator because of my impersonations of Bette Midler, Stevie Nicks, Wynonna Judd and Cher; a spoof to Florida's Bobby York from Sharp A's.
