Roxy Marquis

Although Roxy’s performing career started in 1990 in South Dakota, it was not till 1993 that she moved to Minneapolis that things got rolling. Her first Twin Cities drag debut came courtesy of Sofonda Peters at the Saloon. At her first show, she was lucky enough to meet someone who would shape her career, become a best friend and mentor, and force her to get rid of her South Dakota mullet. Her name is Zena Severe. Zena took her around, got me booked at Gay Pride festivals, and introduced her to the Mpls circuit. She has had the pleasure of working at the Saloon, Club Metro, and ultimately the Gay 90’s, thanks to Dee Richards and Cee Cee Russell. She is proud to call the 90s my home to this day.
She has won title after title in this area:
Miss City of the Lakes
Miss Gay 90’s
Miss Gay 90’s Over 35
Miss Gay Minnesota USofA (2002 & 1997)
Miss Gay North Central States USofA
Miss Gay Northern Star USofA (2003 & 2001)
On the national level at the Miss USofA Pageant, finished in the top 12
